NEWTON FALLS -- Arthur Eugene Robinson, 99, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the son of the late Robert Pollock Robinson and Bertha L. Wilson Robinson.
He had lived in Newton Falls since 1948 and was formerly of Belpre. He married the love of his life, Garnet Irene Payne, on April 23, 1949; and they enjoyed 77 years of marriage together.
Arthur was in quality control for 50 years at Packard Electric, retiring in 1999. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. Arthur was a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 67 for over 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening, working outdoors and going to the grandkids' sporting events.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cynthia Wittich; brothers, Robert and Harold Robinson; and sisters, Elizabeth Miller, Genevieve Bonar, Mary Nelson and Iona Thorn.
He is survived by his wife, Garnet I. Robinson of Warren; daughter, Cassandra and William Kush of Warren; sons, Arthur L. and Mari Lin Robinson of Lordstown, and Robert and Lori Robinson of Newton Falls; son-in-law, Roy Wittich of The Villages, Florida; seven grandchildren, Kimberly (David), Karl (Dawn), Kathleen (Matt), Melenie (Jim), Rachel, Rhonna (Josh) and Makayla (Tyler); and seven great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Audrey, Natalia, Mason, Vincent, Kinsley and Ethan.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., with calling hours from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, with the Rev. Josh McConnell officiating.
He will be laid to rest, with full military honors, in Newton Falls Cemetery.
