HOWLAND -- Anthony J. Ferri, 84, entered into eternal rest Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at Aventura at Assumption Village in North Lima.
He was born Jan. 12, 1942, in Youngstown, the son of Anthony F. and Dorothy B. Blair Ferri.
A graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Anthony served his county honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a foreman for Republic/LTV/WCI Steel before retiring. Over the years, he belonged to the Warren Moose Lodge, the Elks Lodge and the NAUS on Mahoning Avenue. Anthony was an avid golfer, coin and sports card collector. In addition, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting and band events.
Precious memories of Anthony live on with his beloved wife of 66 years, Joyce A. Sawyer Ferri, whom he married July 2, 1960; two children, James Ferri of Columbus and Shannon Lawson of Warren; three grandchildren, Alexis, Haylee and Alix; two nephews, Troy Ferri and Kurtis Ferri (Susan); and other family and friends who think of him fondly and miss him dearly.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Dennis Ferri; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Ferri.
Calling hours will be 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Full military honors will be conferred. All who knew and loved Anthony are welcome to attend and honor his great life.
