NILES -- Wanda M. Mechling, 87, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. She was born on Dec. 10, 1938, in Shinnston, W.Va., a daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Horner Wright.
Wanda has resided in Niles, for the last 15 years, with her daughter Wendy.
Wanda loved her children and grandchildren immensely. She found relaxation in being outside; she loved sitting in the backyard and planting flowers. She loved animals, especially her best friend "Snugglebug." Wanda loved to write; she waited for God to speak to her and when he did, she created masterpieces. Wanda was a woman of God; she loved going to church and adored her church siblings.
Wanda leaves behind many who will miss her dearly, including her son, Darrell Mechling; daughters, Susan Wolf, Sarah Durst, Paula (Wayne) Taylor and Wendy Emmert; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as many friends and church loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Mechling; granddaughter Melissa; great-granddaughter Kaylie; and great-grandson Huxley.
Calling hours will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026, with a service to follow at noon, at Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Warren.
Burial will take place at a later date in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
