WARREN -- Wallace P. Baker, of Warren, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026.
He was born on March 28, 1932, in Omar, W.Va., a son of Benjamin and Ida Curry Baker.
He was a Korean War veteran, serving from 1950 to 1953, as a machine gunner in the 3rd Infantry Division, 7th Infantry Regiment. Wallace worked for Copperweld Steel as a recorder for 38 years. He volunteered in the transportation department of the American Red Cross for 18 years and was a proud member of its 21 Gallon Club. He was a devoted member of Bristolville Freewill Baptist Church since 1964, where he was a senior deacon.
Wallace is survived by his daughter, Donna (Brad); his son, Kenny; grandchildren, Bryan, Katrina, Samantha and Shelby; great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ina. Preceding him in death were his wife, Belva; daughter, Sandra; brothers, Arvin, Doss, Harry, Leon, Sonny, Dale and Herman; and sisters, Betty, Ava, Jean, Lil and Sally.
His funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at the Bristolville Freewill Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow in Pine Knoll Cemetery.
