CHAMPION -- Timothy Todd Whipkey, 61, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Tim was born on Dec. 8, 1964, in Warren, Ohio, the second son of William and Marilyn Fischer Whipkey. He had an older brother, Ron and would be joined later by brothers Tom and Jim as well as a sister, Lori Betts.
He was a proud 1983 graduate of Champion High School, where he served as class president. He was a talented baseball player and the quarterback for his high school football team. Tim went on to earn his bachelor's degree in political science at Denison University, graduating in 1987. He was a member of the Delta Chi fraternity. Tim made many friends along the way and treasured them for life.
Tim married his college sweetheart, Ann Marie Jamieson, on June 13, 1992. This was a remarkable marriage as Tim and Ann Marie traveled the world, particularly enjoying their annual Valentine's Day in Rome, Italy. The two of them packed more experiences into their 34 years of marriage than most, as they invited family and friends to join them in their many fun times. "TIM LOVED LIFE!"
He was a certified financial planner for 36 years, affiliated with Osiac Wealth Inc. He specialized in retirement planning, estate planning and investment management.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, William, in 2007, as well as his grandparents, John and Lucille Fischer and Ralph and Genevieve Whipkey, and his mother-in-law, Margit Jamieson.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie Jamieson Whipkey; his mother, Marilyn Fischer Whipkey; his brothers, Ronald (Margaret), Thomas (Crystal), and James; and his sister, Lori (Bradley) Betts. Also surviving are his father-in-law, James Jamieson, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, a great-nephew, an aunt and an uncle.
Tim's dog, Webster, was a faithful companion who visited him in the hospital many times. He also had several kitties who brought a lot of joy to his life.
Tim attended Eastpointe Christian Church in Columbus, Ohio. Pastor Dustin Fulton will officiate at a celebration of Tim's life at Jefferson Country Club, 7271 Jefferson Meadows Drive, Blacklick, OH 43004.
In lieu of flowers, friends may send contributions, in Tim's memory, to the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive SW, Heath, OH 43056.
