TAMPA, Fla. -- Michael L. McQuaid, 58, passed away on Saturday morning, Aug. 8, 2026, at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born on May 11, 1968, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Louis T. McQuaid and Cheryl J. (Dave) Nelson. He was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia; his sons, Justin, Ryan and Jason; and his daughter, Vivian. He was the eldest brother of Lisa McQuaid-Bates and David Nelson.
An entrepreneur by nature, Michael was hardworking, generous and always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Affectionately known as "Mr. Normal," he never knew a stranger and had a way of making those around him feel welcome.
Above all else, Michael adored being a father. His family was his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Nothing meant more to him than the people he loved and the life they shared together.
Michael spent more than the last decade residing in Cape Coral, Florida, where he built a life filled with family, friendships and countless memories.
Michael will be remembered for his generous heart, love for his family and the lasting impression he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
