VIENNA -- Michael C. Young, 62, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026.

Michael was born on June 20, 1964, and was raised in Niles. He later built a new home in Vienna for himself and his wife of 36 years, Cheryl Patrick Young.

Michael was an avid Mopar car and truck lover. His prized possession was his 1977 Dodge Warlock truck he built from the ground up. Michael and Cheryl went on to show it and always won best in show wherever they went. Michael also had a 1929 Dodge coupe that he was in the middle of restoring, and then he entrusted John Lorent of Lake Milton to complete the restoration for his wife, Cheryl.

Michael was known as "The Mopar Man" and knew anything and everything about Mopar, Dodge and RAM.

He leaves behind so many friends, from Micro-Matic Tool, where he worked for 28 years as a machinist. After his shop closed, he went on to work for Valley Electrical Consolidated (V.E.C.) in Girard as a purchasing agent for the company.

He was diagnosed with AML leukemia on March 1, 2025, and became very ill, forcing him to retire. He was in remission for 15 months, but in early July 2026, his leukemia returned with a vengeance and several mutations. Treatment was no longer working, and he developed a brain bleed. Told there were no other options for him, he went on to have palliative care and then entered into hospice.

Michael leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Cheryl (Patrick) Young; an only brother, Robert (Cari) Young of Niles; his aunt and uncle, Joann and Ed Young of Niles; his best friend, Larry Root of Cortland; best friend, John Lorent of Lake Milton; several nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Judy Patrick of Cortland, whom he called "Mom Yum Yum."

He will be forever missed by all that knew him.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Michael's life will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at Lane Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield, OH 44403, with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.
