WARREN -- Melinda C. Galvin, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.
She was born on Nov. 20, 1942, in Lakewood, the daughter of the late Ralph and Katherine O'Neil Wright.
A graduate of Olmsted Falls High School, Melinda's love for art and animals blended seamlessly in her life's endeavors. A very talented artist, she found joy and satisfaction in drawing beautiful horses through her business, "Designs by Melinda." This creative pursuit allowed her not only to express her artistic talents but also to celebrate her deep affection for horses. Her artistry and keen sense of empathy brought pleasure to all who admired her unique artwork.
Horses held a special place in Melinda's heart. Her passion for horses led her to become an active member of the Western Reserve Classic Horse shows that were presented by the Trumbull County Animal Welfare League.
She also had a love for singing. She will always be remembered singing while sitting in her art room, drawing. She also became a manager of the band called "Take Two."
She is survived by her daughter, Kristen (Thomas) Williams of Champion; son, Patrick J. (Kim) Galvin of Howland; brother, James (Lee) Wright of Chicago; her cherished grandchildren, John Galvin, Noah Galvin, Mitchell Galvin, Marisa Galvin, Cory Williams, Shaunna Williams and Brianna Williams; and her great-grandsons, Jameson and Brantley.
She now joins in rest her beloved husband, John G. Galvin; as well as her sons, Michael R. Galvin and Sean P. Galvin.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Melinda at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483. Visitation will take place on Aug. 26, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m., at the same location.
Because of her love for animals, Melinda's family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Trumbull County Animal Welfare League.
