MaryAnn Limongi 1943-2026

NILES -- MaryAnn Limongi, 82, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, following a long illness.

She was born Dec. 6, 1943, in Warren, a daughter of George and Pearl Ghindea Muntean.

MaryAnn was a 1961 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Niles. She worked for many years as a bank teller at Trumbull Savings Bank and helping customers at Cornicelli Cleaners. She will be remembered for being one who loved to laugh with everyone, one who loved shopping with her daughters and one who enjoyed fun times spent with her card club friends. An avid reader, she read many books on the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland.

She leaves behind her loving and caring children, Lisa (Joseph) Pellegrini of Medina, Richard (Amy) Limongi Sr. of Niles, and Maribeth Limongi, also of Niles. Her legacy continues through them and through the Romanian and American-Italian traditions she shared with them.

MaryAnn was also a devoted grandmother, deeply proud of each of her grandchildren, Kerry (Nikita) Maglis, Chelsea (Vinny) Smith, Richard (Gianna) Limongi Jr., Julian Pellegrini, and Noah Pellegrini, and one great-grandson on the way.

She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, Nicholas Paul Limongi Jr., whom she married on Feb. 17, 1962; and who passed away on July 26, 2026; and two brothers, Alex Muntean and George Muntean.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, at St. Pope John XXIII-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with Rev. Leo Wehrlin as the celebrant. There are no calling hours and everyone is asked to meet directly at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

The family thanks Shepherd of the Valley in Liberty for their kind and compassionate care.
