Joseph G. Mollica 1954-2026

COLUMBUS -- Joseph Guy Mollica, 71, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at Dublin Methodist Hospital.

He was born Nov. 1, 1954, in Warren, the son of Joseph and Dorothy D'Amico Mollica.

Joe was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School; Cornell University, where he played quarterback; and the University of Dayton School of Law. He went on to practice law for 45 years. He will be remembered for his gregarious personality, love of good food and good music, and endless pursuit of fun.

He will be sadly missed by two sons, Joseph Mollica (Thomas Shepherd) of Columbus and Gregory Mollica (Christina) of Worthington; a daughter, Gwendolyn Mollica of Yellow Springs; three sisters, Lorene Consiglio of Warren, Janis Harbison (David) of Freeport, Pa., and Gerry Clark (Joseph) of Natrona Heights, Pa.; two grandchildren, Demetrios and Nikolas Mollica, both of Worthington; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Niles, with Rev. Leo Wehrlin officiating. Mass will be preceded by a 10:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
