WEATHERSFIELD -- Gary L. "Boompa" Fincham, 80, entered into eternal rest Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, at home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1946, in Clarksburg, W.Va., the son of Charles R. and Auda M. Keaton Fincham.
A graduate of Garrettsville Garfield High School, Gary worked as a lineman and warehouse supervisor for Ohio Edison. In retirement, he worked for PennCare. A Mason and a member of I.O.O.F. (Independent Order of Odd Fellows), Gary enjoyed model railroads and NASCAR, especially watching the Blaneys.
Gary was a great handyman and could build anything, all by himself, with his specialties being outdoor decks and porches. Gary looked forward to every family event and the opportunity to display his culinary skills. A true family man, he never missed work except to go on vacation or take care of his parents. The greatest testimony to his love of family was taking in Linda's four children and raising them as if they were his own.
Precious memories of Gary live on with his beloved wife of nearly 48 years, Linda Fulks Fincham, whom he married Sept. 3, 1978; three children, Russell Spade of Rootstown, Tiffany Rizzi of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Steffany Matteo (Mark) of Warren; five grandchildren, Matthew Coble (Joette), Abigail Rizzi, Nicholas Rizzi, Jaykob Matteo (Julianna), Benjamin Matteo, who helped him so much, and Noah Matteo; seven great-grandchildren; and his four-legged BFFs, Dolly Parton and Penny.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Raymond "Jay" Spade; and many other canine companions.
Services have already taken place.
To honor Gary's great life, do a good deed for someone, and remember Gary and his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
Arrangements are entrusted to Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483, 330-394-6200. Dedicated to serving your loved ones. This obituary may be viewed, and condolences sent to www.statonborowskifuneralhome.com.
