WARREN -- Elaine C. Bender, 84, was called home by the angels on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026.
Elaine was born Jan. 17, 1942, in Warren, to the late Arthur and Josephine Crum. Elaine was a 1956 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.
On Feb. 4, 1961, she married Robert "Bob" Bender. She became a mother the following year when her daughter, Kirsten, was born. A few years later her son, Robert Jr., "Rob," was born. Shortly after, they built their home in Champion, where they lived for many years before moving to Howland.
Elaine was a merchandiser for Murphy's Mart for many years. Once they closed, she began working at the Trumbull County Clerk of Courts, where she eventually retired.
Elaine enjoyed crafting of all sorts. There was almost nothing that she couldn't create. She also enjoyed baking, cooking and hosting holiday dinners. You could always count on her to have a Funfetti cake ready to make for any occasion.
Elaine was a devout and faithful Catholic who found peace and strength in praying the daily Rosary. She passed into eternal life trusting fully in the mercy of Jesus Christ.
She leaves her beautiful spirit to be carried on by her children, Kirsten Harford and Rob (Melissa) Bender; her grandson, Michael Bender, whom she and her late husband, Bob, raised and loved like a son; as well as four additional grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Carolyn Boyle and Sandra Rose.
To those she held dear, Elaine leaves one final familiar reminder: "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."
Private services have taken place at Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel.
