Donald C. Davis 1943-2026

KINSMAN -- Donald C. "Butch" Davis, 83, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Donald was born on May 6, 1943, in Girard.

He played football throughout high school for the Girard Indians. Following high school, he proudly served his country for four years in the United States Coast Guard. After his military service, Donald began a long career with Packard Electric, where he worked for 30 years before retiring.

Donald enjoyed traveling to Florida with his beloved wife, Donna, where they spent many winters together. He had a love for classic cars, enjoyed trips to the casino and could often be found watching Westerns, war movies or football. Above all, Donald treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and "Papa." His family was his greatest joy, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Donna; his daughter, Cindy Rainey; his granddaughter, Amber Darno (Thomas); his grandsons, Bailey Rainey and Jack Rainey; his great-granddaughter, Clara; his great-grandson, TJ; and his brothers, Robert and James.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Irene Davis; his brother, William Jr.; his daughter, Sherri Wilson; and his son-in-law, David Rainey.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at Fowler Community Church, 4665 Wilson-Sharpsville Road, Fowler, OH 44418.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in Donald's memory, to The Hope Center for Cancer Care, Howland.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lane Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, Cortland.
