NEWTON FALLS -- Dennis Dale Dabney II, 54, passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 12, 1971, in Warren, a son of Dennis Dale Dabney Sr. and Sheryl Ann Summerville Dabney. He was preceded in death by his father in 2021.
Dennis joined the U.S. Navy right after his graduation from Southeast High School, serving from 1990 to 1993. While serving in the U.S. Navy, he trained and served as a Navy/Marine medic.
Dennis is survived by his mother, Sheryl Dabney; his children, Alexis Dabney and Pedro DeLalor, Jacob Dabney and Adelaide Dabney; his brother, Josh Dabney; and three grandchildren, Isabella Lalor, Leonardo Lalor and Rafael Lalor. Dennis is also survived by his devoted fiance, Beth Jarrett, and her children, Abigail Jarrett, Katelynn Barefield and Mason Dunham. Additionally he leaves aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Dave Puz, along with many other friends.
He was employed as an aide by various nursing homes in the area. He was also employed at IVEX Paper Mill Corporation in Chagrin Falls, Baldy's Archery Shop and his most recent job at Kraftmaid Cabinetry in Middlefield.
His family meant the world to him; he was a devoted father. He shot archery from 10 years of age and made many happy memories while shooting with his father, brother and special friends throughout his years. He was an avid reader, mostly of suspense and horror, especially Stephen King books. He also was an amateur photographer; he loved photography.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life service will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, at the James Funeral Home, Newton Falls.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. To honor Dennis, full military services will be performed by the Newton Falls Veterans Honor Guard.
