NILES -- Darlene Sue Fuda, 80, passed away on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 23, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 5, 1946, in Youngstown, the daughter of Carl William and Pauline Hatmaker Anderson.
Darlene was a 1965 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and cosmetology school, where she received her beautician's license. Throughout her life she worked at various places: Station Square Ristorante, the Law Office of Attorney Matt Blair, Niles Drivers License Bureau, Louis McQuaid-McQuaid Service Centers, and as a self-employed beautician for Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home.
She was the election campaign treasurer of the Committee to Elect Frank Fuda and set the state model on how to properly account and report campaign donations and disbursements.
She attended Saint Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and loved the message of our Savior Jesus Christ and helping others.
She enjoyed cooking, especially preparing Sunday dinners, hosting a big Christmas gathering, and sharing her tomato sauce and stuffed peppers. A Las Vegas Raiders fan, Darlene also enjoyed dancing, bowling, watching Hallmark movies and listening to Motown music.
Darlene is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Frank S. Fuda, whom she married on June 21, 1998, and who affectionately nicknamed her "little wife"; two sons, Andrew E. (Connie) Bistarkey Jr. of Niles, Kenneth J. Bistarkey of Niles; stepchildren, Tonya (Donald) Swauger of Mineral Ridge, Frank "Buddy" (Mandie) Fuda II of Rowlett, Texas, and Tony (Devon) Fuda of Niles; 10 grandchildren, Brittany (Austin), Ryan, Austin (Sheryl), Donovan, Kennadi, Stephen, Ari'Ella, Jacqueline, Alex and Jasmine; and great-granddaughter, Briana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Stephen Michael Bistarkey Sr., who died on Jan. 7, 2018; and two brothers, Kenneth Gale Anderson and Carl Eugene Anderson.
Honoring her wishes, no calling hours or funeral service will be held.
