WARREN -- Constance "Connie" Savas Gentithes, 92, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, with her family by her side.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1934, in Oswego, New York.
She graduated from Oswego High School and studied at SUNY Oswego and, later in life, at Youngstown State University.
On Nov. 8, 1953, she married the love of her life, George Gentithes; and they moved to Warren to start their family. Connie and George were blessed to celebrate 69 years of marriage before George's passing in 2022.
While Connie's most important work was taking care of her family, she also found time to be active in her community. During her life, she served as president of both the Trumbull Art Guild and the Jaycettes. She also volunteered with the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Her hobbies included bowling and playing bridge. She was very creative and engaged in many forms of art, including sketching, coloring, scrapbooking and decorating for holidays. She was also an avid family videographer and loved capturing her family in action. She enjoyed mall walking and shopping with her children and grandchildren. Watching movies was a favorite pastime for her as well.
Her family was her greatest pride and joy. She will always be remembered by her family for her generosity, love and presence. Throughout her life she took countless family vacations. Connie and George kept a condo in Highland Beach, Florida, for nearly 40 years, where they loved to winter and host family. Four generations of her family were blessed to have vacationed in Florida with her.
Connie's last chapter was being a "Super Yaya." She loved spending time with her great-grandchildren watching movies, listening to music, eating chocolate, coloring and playing games.
She is survived by her son, John Gentithes of Florida; her daughter, Kathryn (Craig) Cumberworth of Warren; her daughter, Pamela (Robert) Baker, also of Warren; her five grandchildren, Bryan (Lindsey) Boye of Canfield, Eric (Megan) Cumberworth of Scottsdale, Arizona, Nicole (Michael) Parish of Warren, Jennifer Cumberworth (Kelly Johnson) of Eugene, Oregon, and Michael Baker of Columbus; and eight great-grandchildren, Emersyn and Eleanor Boye, Lyra and Emil Cumberworth, Lola, Penelope and Phoebe Parish, and Felix Cumberworth-Johnson.
She is also survived by her siblings, John Savas of New York, Marie Flanigan of Florida, and Cynthia Vlatas of New Hampshire; as well as her sisters-in-law, Mary Tringadjis of Florida, and Jeannie Gentithes of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Nick Savas and Homer Savas.
A private, family service has taken place.
She will be interned in Oakwood Cemetery.
