FOWLER -- Charles C. Dahman, 75, passed away suddenly Sunday morning, Aug. 2, 2026, at his residence.
Chuck was born May 12, 1951, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, to Clarence G. and HelenMae Dahman.
He was a graduate of Mathews High School, class of 1969. He married his loving wife, Karen R. Croft, on Oct. 14, 1978.
Chuck was a member of Operating Engineers Local 66 for 55 years. He retired from Great Lakes Construction in 2011 and was very proud of the role he played in numerous projects, from the construction of state Route 11 to the I-80 bridge over the Meander Reservoir.
Chuck's true passion was farming. He was the sixth generation to work his family's farm, where he lived his entire life. If you were looking for Chuck and he wasn't in the farmyard, you could always find him on the nearest tractor or bulldozer, right up to the very end. Chuck also enjoyed restoring antique Allis-Chalmers tractors and had a fond interest in history, trains and heavy equipment.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen R. Dahman; his two sons, Adam (Stephanie) Dahman of Suwanee, Georgia, and Eric (Kelly) Dahman of Fowler; and his four beloved grandchildren, Aidan, Alex, Ariel, and Kinze. Chuck is also survived by his siblings, Douglas (Carolyn) Dahman, Margie (David) Hampton, and Marian Dahman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Chuck's life at the Dahman Farm at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026.
The family has entrusted arrangements to Shafer-Winans Chapel of Lane Funeral Homes, Cortland.
