WARREN -- Andrew "Andy" Cristo, 93, left this world to join his family in heaven on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026. The youngest sibling from a family of six children, he was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Sr. and Julia; his brothers, Michael Jr., Martin and Nick; and his sisters, Julie and Anna.
Andy was born in the small mining town of Elkhorn, W.Va. The family moved to Warren, Ohio, where he graduated from Warren G. Harding High School. He served honorably in the United States Army and worked at Van Huffel after his discharge.
The designated family driver, Andy loved to travel with his parents and sisters throughout the United States. He excelled at bowling, raised dogs and parakeets and enjoyed painting and designing jewelry, but his favorite activity was playing the slots at Mountaineer, Hollywood Racino in Austintown, and Las Vegas.
Andy is survived by nephew, Martin Cristo, and nieces, Sandra Lee Waters, Susan Augustine, Nicianne Shunkwiler, and Candy Hurst. The family would like to thank Gillette Skilled Nursing Home and Akeso Hospice for their compassionate care and, especially, his cousin, Gloria Berish for her help and support.
Andrew was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Andy from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 2053 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483, where a funeral service will follow visitation at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 2053 North Road N.E., Warren, OH 44483, in his memory.
