CORTLAND -- It is with profound sadness and deep faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we announce the falling asleep of William T. Andamasaris, who passed away peacefully Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the age of 71, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born May 21, 1955, to the late Harriet Kay Sarris and Thomas Andamasaris. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 to 1976. Following his military service, he built a long and dedicated career at Delphi Packard Electric, retiring in 2006.
He was a lifelong member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
Bill was a man who embraced life's simple pleasures. He was happiest when he was out fishing, tracking black cats or indulging in his favorite sweets. He had a deep appreciation for his heritage, which was best expressed through his love for enjoying Greek food with those he loved. Known for his sharp wit, Bill loved to joke, was a notorious prankster and possessed an incredible knack for being able to find a way to fix absolutely everything. His unique interests, humor, warmth and dedication to his family will be deeply missed.
He leaves behind a beautiful legacy and is survived by his beloved wife, Luana Platt Andamasaris. He was a proud and loving father to his sons, William Thomas Andamasaris (Kelly) of Stow, William Michael Andamasaris (Deanna) of Howland and Eric Andamasaris (Melanie) of Warren; and his daughter, Christa Andamasaris (Dan Pettit) of Moundsville, W.Va. He is also survived by his brother, James Andamasaris (Jeannie) of Howland; and his sisters, Tula Caskey (Larry) of New York and Irene Gilmour (Bob) of Florida; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was also the grandfather of Sydney, Ryley, Eric, Niko, Zac and Sydney.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 a.m. until the time of the 11 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Warren, with Father Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Following the funeral service, burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
A reception will take place in the church basement at St. Demetrios Church, immediately following interment.
