MIDDLEFIELD -- William E. Mello, 92, died Saturday, July 11, 2026, at UH Geauga Medical Center.
He was born April 23, 1934, in Fall River, Massachusetts, a son of James and Mary Fitzgerald Mello.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War.
He was employed at Johnson Rubber Company.
Survivors include his daughter, Diana Tripi; son, Bill Jr.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nancy Huss and Linda Pontes.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Mae Ash Mello; and siblings, James, Robert, Gerald and Marlene Mello, and Rita Campbell.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Best Funeral Home, with services 11 a.m. Thursday.
Interment will be in Overlook Cemetery, Parkman.
