NILES -- Sherlynn Marie Stringer-Forman, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 26, 2026, following a sudden illness.
Born on April 24, 1964, in Warren, she was a daughter of Dallis and JoAnne Stringer.
She was a graduate of Girard High School and went on to pursue a degree in nursing, earning her RN from Youngstown State University. While dedicating her life to the care of others, Sherlynn worked professionally as a nurse for a number of years where her compassion, skill and gentle nature touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues.
Outside of her professional life, Sherlynn was a woman of vibrant warmth and creativity. She had a passion for baking and spent hours crafting beautiful handmade treasures for those she loved. She could often be found on the courts, playing games of bocce and sharing laughs with her close circle of friends. She also had a deep love for animals, finding immense happiness in the companionship of her cherished dogs.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fredric Forman; her father, Dallis Stringer; and her brother, Brian Stringer (survived by his wife, Lisa).
Her legacy of love and care lives on through her surviving family, including her mother, JoAnne Stringer; her nieces and nephews, Nicole Storey (Robert), Jonathan Stringer, Elizabeth Reed, Jennifer Sheehy, Michael Sheehy and Daniel Sheehy; her many cherished great-nephews and great-nieces; as well as many other extended family members and dear friends.
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday for St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Following the Funeral Mass, interment will take place in Girard City Cemetery.
The family requests material contributions be made, in Sherlynn's name, to the Animal Welfare League, 812 Youngstown-Kingsville Road S.E., Vienna, OH 44473.
