NILES -- Kevin Sean Hoover, lovingly known simply as Sean, passed away suddenly Friday, July 3, 2026, at the age of 67.
Born Nov. 3, 1958, in Niles, Sean was a lifelong resident and proud graduate of the Niles McKinley High School Class of 1978.
Sean was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Hoover and Mary Jane Ryan Hoover; his brother, Bob "Hoops" Hoover; and his sister, Patricia K. Burke. He is survived by his sister, Mary Alice (Michael) Tvaroch of Niles; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his beloved cats, who brought him great joy and companionship.
Sean was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially of the Browns, Cavs and Guardians, who would always be "the Indians" to him. A proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous, he strongly believed in the program and its message of hope and helping others.
Known for his playful spirit, Sean loved making people laugh and often went to great lengths to bring smiles to those around him. He had a special love for animals, particularly cats, and was a friend to every neighborhood stray.
A private family celebration of life is being planned for early August.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Sean's memory by helping an animal or person in need or by making a donation to your local animal shelter or organization.
Arrangements and cremation were by ECremations in Warren.
