WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Samuel Rairigh, 84, passed away peacefully Monday, June 29, 2026.
Born Dec. 6, 1941, in Johnstown, Pa., Sam lived a life filled with laughter, friendship and love. He was reunited with the love of his life, Billie Jean Rairigh, who preceded him in death in June 2025.
He is lovingly remembered by his stepsons, Al, Roger, Dallas, David and Kenny; his daughters-in-law; his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to whom he was lovingly known as Grandpa or Papa; and the many family members and friends who were blessed to know and love him.
After retiring from the General Motors plant, Sam enjoyed golf, music, travel, cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and time with family and friends.
Sam was simply easy to love. He enjoyed good conversation, good food and being surrounded by the people he cared about. One of his favorite sayings was, "I'll drink to that!" Even though he rarely drank, it was his joyful way of celebrating life's good moments and the people he shared them with.
A celebration of life will take place 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, at the Newton Falls VFW. Family and friends are invited to gather to share stories, laughter and memories of a man who made life brighter simply by being part of it.
The measure of a life isn't found in the years we are given but in the love we share and the smiles we leave behind. By that measure, Sam's life was truly a blessing.
