WARREN -- Renay Lachel Vaughn, 72, passed away peacefully Friday, July 10, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
Born July 20, 1953, in Warren,, Renay was the daughter of Burnett Vaughn and Middie Vaughn.
She spent her life in the Warren area and was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy came from caring for those she loved. Renay had a vibrant personality that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She loved to cook, travel and spend time in the company of family and friends. Known for talking for hours, she had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued. She was outgoing, lively and truly free-spirited, with a beautiful singing voice that brought joy to those around her. Her warm heart and infectious personality will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Shanayla Vaughn; her cherished grandchildren, DaParis Vaughn-Parish and DaLondyn Vaughn-Parish; her sister, Deborah Ballard; her brother, Larry Vaughn; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Burnett Vaughn and Middie Vaughn; her sisters, Patricia Manson, Ruth "Peggy" Brown, Doris Jean and Janet Provitt; and her brother, William "Billy" Vaughn.
The homegoing celebration honoring the life of Renay Lachel Vaughn will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2026, at Monument of Faith Cathedral, 904 W. Market St., Warren, with calling hours 10 to 11 a.m.
Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to join the family from 3 to 6 p.m. for a repast at the Packard Shelter House.
The Vaughn family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the many prayers, acts of kindness, love, support and expressions of sympathy shown during this difficult time.
