WARREN -- Paul Joseph Gabrielson Sr., known to all as Paul, was born on April 17, 1944, in Warren, and on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, he departed this earthly stage at University Hospital Cleveland, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and steadfast devotion.
Paul was a man of noble heart and humble bearing, one who walked through life with a quiet dignity and a generous spirit. He was loving in all his ways, selfless in his deeds, and wise in the counsel he gave to others. In the company of kin and friends, he was ever a faithful soul, whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of sure belonging. His life was a testament to constancy, and those who knew him were enriched by his kindness and by the gentle firmness of his character.
He was educated at Warren G. Harding High School, where the foundations of his life were laid before he entered the working world with diligence and resolve. For 35 years, he gave his skillful labor to Packard Electric in the skilled trades, where his hands and mind served with excellence and where his steadfast work ethic earned the respect of all who labored beside him. In all things, he understood the worth of honest effort, and he carried himself with the pride of one who knew the value of a day well spent.
His interests were many, and his passions were known with gladness by those around him. He was an avid fan of dirt track racing and even drove at one time, taking delight in the roar of engines and the thrill of the track. He was also a devoted NASCAR fan, and his loyalty to the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Guardians was unwavering through victories and trials alike. Yet above all earthly interests, his greatest joy was found in his family, and most of all in the role he so dearly cherished as a loving and devoted grandfather.
Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Andrea Gabrielson, whom he surely held in enduring love; by his treasured granddaughter, Cierra Gabrielson; great grandsons, Ezra and Finn Guerrero and by his brothers, Clay Gabrielson, William Gabrielson and Larry Gabrielson. Though death has parted them from his sight, the bonds of love remain unbroken in memory and in the hearts of those who mourn.
He is survived by his son, Paul Gabrielson Jr.; his daughter, Lisa Gabrielson; his son, Robert Gabrielson and his wife, Jennifer; and his sister, Karen Pratt. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jessica Guerrero, and her husband, Chase, Robert Gabrielson Jr., Bryce Gabrielson, Codey Gibson, Bryan Gabrielson, Romeo Gabrielson, Gage Gibson and Skylar Gibson. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Braelynn, Caleb and Darwin, who shall carry forward the light of his name and the warmth of his example.
Though his mortal journey has ended, the story of Paul's life remains written in the hearts of those who loved him. He was a man of honor, a keeper of family, and a soul of enduring gentleness. In the great theater of life, he played his part with courage and devotion, and now he rests from his labors. Let those who knew him remember his laughter, his wisdom, his steadfast love, and the many ways in which he gave of himself without measure. His memory shall abide, like a fine and lasting song, in the minds of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to call him husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
No services were requested by Paul. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
