Michelle A. Bryant 1958-2026

YOUNGSTOWN -- Michelle Annette Bryant, 67, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at her home following a brief illness.

Born Sept. 16, 1958, in Warren, Michelle was the daughter of Reid Charles Smith and Marie C. Lopez-Smith-Qualls. She was a proud 1976 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School.

Michelle devoted her life to caring for others. She worked as a dietitian at Windsor House, a barmaid at the Elks Lodge and Jackson's, and later as a health aide at the Enrichment Center, where she compassionately cared for adults with disabilities. Her kindness, patience and unwavering compassion left a lasting impact on the countless lives she touched throughout her career.

Michelle was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was known for her quiet strength, generous heart and selfless spirit. She found joy in helping others and treasured the time she spent with her family. Her warmth, resilience and unconditional love will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Michelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth C. "Kenny" Bryant, whom she married Dec. 31, 2001, and who passed away April 23, 2015.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, LaTheressa M. Scrivens-Morgan; her parents, Reid Charles Smith and Marie C. Lopez-Smith-Qualls; the grandparents who helped raise her, Izell and Edna Richburg Smith, Eugene Lopez and Herbert and Blanche Holder Cooper Jr.; her grandson, Elijah Vasquez; and her great-granddaughter, Justine I. Cruz.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters, Monique Smith, Essence Smith and Natalie Scrivens; goddaughters, Marquita McCullough and Keia Johnson; her brother, Michael Terry; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends whose lives were blessed by knowing her.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Michelle's life beginning with calling hours 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2026, at Mount Calvary Church, followed by a celebration of life service 11 a.m. to noon. A repast will immediately follow the service.
