Martha D. Miller 1930-2026

WARREN -- Martha D. DeVita Miller, 96, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

Martha was born May 24, 1930, in Warren, to her loving parents, Andrew and Anna Hildack Furchak.

She was a 1948 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She was employed at General Motors and retired from General Electric in 1990.

Martha was the foundation of her family. She married Robert P. DeVita in 1951, and together they had four children. Later she married Michael D. Miller in 1984, and they spent many holidays together enjoying their blended families. Martha enjoyed crocheting, sewing, traveling and cooking, with a highlight being her making, boiling and frying over 200 perogies every Good Friday. Throughout the years she enjoyed attending the annual Hildack family reunion at Willow Lake. She also enjoyed spending time with her condo friends in her cul-de-sac in Warren. She spent the last three years at Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon, where the staff and residents will always remember her with a smile on her face.

Martha will be remembered by her children, Bob (Kathy) DeVita, Kathy (Bruce) White and Tim (Betty) DeVita; son-in-law, Jim Davis; grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Darmos, Andrew (David) Sturgess-White, Ian (Lindsay) White, Robert (Whitney) DeVita, Zachary DeVita and Quinn DeVita; and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Ava and Parker Darmos, Leighton White and Nico DeVita. She will also be remembered by Mike's children, Kathy (Brian) Ricci, Tom Miller and Pam Miller; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Edward Furchak; and several loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Michael D. Miller; daughter, Carol Ann Davis; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Anthony Amarose; brother, Andy "Bob" Furchak; sister-in-law, Barbara Furchak; stepson and wife, Mike and Sherri Miller; stepdaughter-in-law, Lori Miller; and stepson-in-law, Mark Pusey.

She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Martha's family would like to thank the staff at Ohio Eastern Star Home and Ohio Capital City Hospice for the care they provided during the last years of her life.

Family and friends may pay their respects 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2026, and 8:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483.

A funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at St. William Catholic Church, 5411 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, OH 44483.

Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.

A celebration of life will take place 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home Community Room.
