WARREN -- Lenora Pough Sowers, 56, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026, at her home.
Born Oct. 31, 1969, in Warren, Lenora was the daughter of William Hooks.
She dedicated many years of service as a bus driver for CBS, Warren City Schools, Howland Schools and KraftMaid, where she was known for her caring nature and dependable spirit. Lenora was a graduate from Warren G. Harding High School and did paralegal studies at YSU.
Lenora possessed a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit that could brighten any room. She was known for her kind eyes, straightforward personality and appreciation for honesty and simplicity. In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing ballet, a passion she fondly remembered throughout her life. Lenora also enjoyed gardening, playing puzzling games and decorating the house for the holidays. She married the love of her life, Elton R. Sowers, in 2011 and cherished the years they shared together.
Lenora is survived by her beloved husband, Elton R. Sowers Sr.; her sons, Seth, Bryce, Elton Jr. and Christian; her daughters, Sincere, Justice and Shenell; and her siblings, Monique Hooks, Ruthie Walker, Bernice Rodgers Corbin, Mark Hooks (Pam), William Hooks Jr., Mario Rodgers (Desaray), and Beatrice Marie Rodgers Hooks.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lena Reynolds.

Family and friends will be received 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2026, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road NE, Warren, where funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Jim Dittmar officiating.
