LEAVITTSBURG -- Joyce Lynn Hurst, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1951, in Elkins, W.Va., a daughter of Elmer William and Virginia Lee Simmons Nogle.
Joyce was a 1969 graduate of Chalker High School. She worked at Carlisle's for 30 years before they closed their doors. She then went back to school at TCTC and later, she worked for PTI. Joyce retired in 2011.
She was a member of Mercy in Action Church, where she volunteered as a greeter and worked in the food pantry. She previously attended Leavittsburg Church of God, working in the pantry there as well. She enjoyed puzzles, gardening, flowers, hummingbirds and cardinals, playing cards and competitive games; but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (fiance, John Clemens) Hurst of Salem; her brother, William (Marilyn) Nogle; sister, Barb (Allen) Robinson; her granddaughter, Destynee Weatherby; and several nieces and nephews, additional family members, and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barry W. Hurst; and her sister, Donna L. Peace.
A private service will take place for her family.
Interment will be in Sager Memorial Cemetery, Bristolville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
