NILES -- Jason Allen Keis, 50, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, July 3, 2026, at his home.
He was born Oct. 23, 1975, in Warren, the son of James E. "Jimmy" and Barbara E. Drab Keis, and lived in this community all his life.
He was a 1994 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-St. Stephen Church.
Jason was an easygoing, tender-hearted man who enjoyed the simple things in life -- watching a movie, listening to music, going to a sporting event or spending time with his family. He enjoyed listening to different genres of music, was a superfan of the band KISS and was also a movie buff. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers; the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins; the Lake County Captains; the Akron Rubber Ducks; the Mahoning Valley Scrappers; the Youngstown State University Penguins; and the Niles McKinley Red Dragons. He enjoyed high school football and enjoyed going to the high school state championship in Canton.
Jason was fortunate over the years to have made many friendships alongside his dad at various stadiums with fellow sports fans.
Jason was a devoted son and brother and loved his family with all of his heart.
Jason is survived by siblings, Jennifer (Edward) Joseph of Niles, Stephanie (Darryn) Paul of Austintown and Michael (Theresa) Rendziniak Sr. of Mineral Ridge; nieces and nephews, Nikki (Joel) McCracken, Michael Rendziniak Jr., Gillian Paul, Nicholas Paul and Colin Joseph; great-nephews, Ezra and Revo; his aunts, Susie (Tom) Williams and Donna (Terrence) Glodde; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; his aunts and uncles; and his beloved dog, Pepper.
Jason was a kind soul and will be truly missed.
The family would like to express their gratitude to his two close friends of over 40 years, Ed Snider and Pat Devanny, and his cousin, Rob. Your support, love and friendship meant the world to him. Thank you all for your kindness to him over the years.
If we can take anything away from Jason's unexpected passing, it's to know that time is never promised. Take the time to enjoy the simple things in life, never forget to treat others with kindness and respect, and love one another.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any contributions be made in Jason's name to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.
