KINSMAN -- James R. Bechtel Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the age of 67.
Born Oct. 31, 1958, in Warren, James was the cherished son of the late James and Hazel Bechtel.
James's life was a testament to love, kindness and resilience. Married to his devoted wife and partner Carla on April 19, 1980, they shared 50 remarkable years together, nurturing a family and creating a legacy filled with laughter, joy and unwavering support. Their relationship, marked by deep love and mutual respect, was a rare and beautiful matching of souls.
James was a man of many talents and interests. Known for his sharp wit and indomitable spirit, he brought comfort and strength to those around him.
Above all, he loved spending time with his family, cherishing every moment with his wife, Carla; his son, James "Jay" Bechtel III; and his daughter, Jennifer Bechtel, along with her husband, Sean Wyant; and his grandchildren, Jacob and Dakota, who were his pride and joy and whom he delighted in watching grow and sharing in their adventures.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hazel; his brother, John; and his sister, Terri.
There are no services.
Arrangements were by Willow Cremation, Cleveland.
