George Edward Dermer 1944-2026

MEDINA -- George Edward Dermer, 81, passed away peacefully Friday evening, June 19, 2026, with his loving family by his side.

George will always be remembered and cherished by his family and friends for his humility, kindness and easy-going spirit.

He was born on July 9, 1944, in Warren, the son of Harry and Lillian Bianco Dermer.

George was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School.

George retired from Packard Electric/Delphi after 40 years.

He always made his family his greatest priority. He especially loved attending his grandchildren's activities and was always their biggest fan.

He enjoyed spending winters in Florida, as well as taking trips to Disney and visiting casinos. He was an avid Cleveland Guardians and Browns fan. Above all, George treasured the time he spent with his family.

His beloved wife, the former Donna Lea Evans, whom he married July 17, 1965, died Feb. 9, 2026.

George leaves behind his daughter, Staci (Keith) Heck; six grandchildren, Amber, Aaron, Ashley, Gary, Gavin and Megan; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Bob, Donald, Denny, Diane Zemko, Patty Hopkins and Ronald Harker.

In addition to his parents and his wife, George was preceded in death by two daughters, an infant baby girl and Shelli Henderson; his brothers, Harry Dermer and Richard Harker; and his sister, Paula McLaughlin.

A private funeral service has taken place at Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren, with Pastor Russ Adams officiating.

Burial took place in Niles City Cemetery.
