Eric S. Tracey 1947-2026

VIENNA -- Eric S. Tracey, 78, formerly of Warren and Howland, entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Hospice House in Poland.

He was born Nov. 19, 1947, in Warren, a son of Edward and Audrey Tillotson Tracey.

Eric was a 1965 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, the largest of all WGH graduating classes, and he graduated from Youngstown State University, where he played on the football team.

He served his country honorably in Vietnam in the United States Army, and he later served in the Air Force Reserve at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna for 30 years until retirement.

Eric worked in the engineering department of Delphi/Packard. A lifelong member of Christ Episcopal Church, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and gardening. He found great pleasure in supporting his kids in their sports and other activities.

Precious memories of Eric live on with his beloved wife of nearly 59 years, Jayne Donnelly Tracey, whom he married Aug. 28, 1968; two children, Jeffrey Tracey of Columbus and Holly Omogrosso (Anthony) of New Albany; his granddaughter, Zoe Omogrosso; two brothers, Timothy Tracey (Margaret) of Howland and Thomas Tracey of Champion; and many other family and friends who think the world of him.

His parents precede him in death.

Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren, OH 44483, where services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Robin Woodberry officiating. All who know and love Eric are welcome to attend and celebrate his remarkable life.

His urn will be laid to rest in the Christ Episcopal Church columbarium.
