BROOKFIELD -- Elaine J. Lilak, 71, passed away Friday evening, June 26, 2026, at Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Elaine was born March 16, 1955, in Niles, a daughter of Isaac and Irene Sheward.
She was a graduate of Girard High School and retired from General Motors in Lordstown.
She loved to show her three Tibetan terriers at many dog shows; she had a love for all animals. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, decorating for the holidays and going out to breakfast with her friends and family. She also loved planning family and friends' get-togethers. She enjoyed sewing in her younger years and traveling to Florida during the winters. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and being a baba to her grandchildren, whom she deeply adored.
Elaine will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Emil Lilak, whom she married in 1978; her mother, Irene Sheward; children, E-Jay (Vickey) Lilak and Alayna (Paul) Moran; grandchildren, Ace Lilak and Olivia and Luca Moran; siblings, Joanne Kagle, Russell Sheward, Helen (Joseph) Velk and Louis (Sally) Sheward; and her mother-in-law, Theresa Seidal.
She was preceded in death by her father, Isaac Sheward.
Per Elaine's wishes, a private memorial service will take place.
