Donna Jean Wasko 1952-2026

WARREN - Donna Jean Wasko, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 27, 2026, in Newton Falls, surrounded by her beloved family.

Donna was born on April 16, 1952, in Warren, a daughter of the late George J. Sr. and Ann Russomanno Vadas.

A proud 1970 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Donna began her career at Packard Electric until dedicating herself to raising her family as a devoted homemaker. Never one to stop learning, she returned to school in 1992 and earned her medical assistant certification from Trumbull Career & Technical Center. She went on to enjoy a rewarding career at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where she faithfully cared for others until retirement.

Above all else, Donna cherished her family and enjoyed having meals together. She delighted in preparing meals for those she loved. Her ham, homemade potato salad and macaroni salad became treasured family traditions and were requested at every picnic and celebration. She also had a special affection for all her pets, especially her most recently adopted cats. Donna loved reading the newspaper, enjoyed relaxing with a good cookbook or word puzzle and found her greatest joy in attending her grandchildren's activities, whether it was Myah's cross-country meet, Dan's Boy Scout Court of Honor or Spaghetti Dinner. Donna also enjoyed attending Owen's swim meets and Ally's choir concerts. Donna was always there--her unwavering love and support evident from the sidelines.

Donna's kindness, quiet strength and loving presence touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind countless cherished memories that will continue to bring comfort to her family and friends for years to come.

Donna will be lovingly remembered by her son, Daniel P. (Summer) Wasko Jr. of Warren; her daughter, Danette Wasko of Warren; her beloved grandchildren, Dan "DJ" Wasko and Myah Wasko; her sister, Gloria (Tom) Bertleff of Champion; and many extended family members and dear friends, including Jennifer, Bryan, Owen and Ally Morgenstern.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her brother, George J. Vadas Jr.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Donna on Friday, July 31, 2026, from noon until 1 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE, Warren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish-Blessed Sacrament Church, Warren, at 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, OH 44483, with the Rev. Ed Stafford presiding.

Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery.
