CORTLAND -- Brenda Kay Pytel Mohn, 75, passed away Monday afternoon, July 27, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
Brenda was born on Feb. 3, 1951, in Carmichaels, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Dessie Molesey Pytel.
Brenda cared deeply for her family and friends. She has hosted so many holiday meals, birthday parties and family gatherings. She always made everyone feel welcome and appreciated. She was a wonderful cook and dessert maker. She enjoyed decorating her home. She crafted and painted many of the scenes herself. She took pride in planting and caring for her flowers and greenery. She loved to see animals; whether it was her own pet, or someone else's, she wanted to pet, hold and talk to it. Without fail, she always made a new furry friend. She enjoyed watching birds too and had some cute times with baby ducks. Brenda did a lot of smiling and especially enjoyed her music.
Brenda will be deeply missed by her loving son, Allan (Valerie) Mohn; granddaughter, Dia Mohn; and her cousin, Lorraine Anderson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Keith Mohn, whom she married on Dec. 21, 1968, and who passed away on Dec. 8, 2022.
A private burial will take place in North Colebrook Cemetery.
