WARREN -- Ann Leigh Apple Gilbert, 81, passed away peacefully Friday, June 26, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, surrounded by family.
Ann was born in Warren to Clyde Gilbert and Betty Emery.
Ann loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She worked at Macy's for 45 years and also worked part-time at the Dairy Queen on Youngstown Road.
She is survived by her nephew, Jeff Lockhart (Michelle) of Southington; nieces, Amy Gilbert Bender (Roma) of Warren and Lee Stringham (Robert) of Howland; great-nephews, Preston, Jacob, Phillip, Clayton and Nicholas; great-nieces, Zamyah and Anasia; and great-great-nieces, Ramona, Magnolia and Nakylah.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers, Ralph Gilbert, John Mark Gilbert and Richard Dale Gilbert.
There will be no services. A caring cremation will take place, per her wishes.
