CORTLAND -- Althea Lillian Leist Wade, age 100, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Cortland Healthcare.
She was born on Feb. 12, 1926, on Gobbler's Knob in Rochester, Pa., to Clydus and Margaret Leist.
Althea will be remembered for her amazing ability to tell detailed stories of her life growing up in Pennsylvania, as well as her great sense of humor. She loved her family, the Lord, the farm and all her animals.
Althea was married to Orville L. Wade for more than 50 years. She is survived by her children, Lela (Bill) Yoder, Larry (Suzanne), Joseph (Annemarie), Robin and Sam; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Tom; her husband, Orville; and her granddaughter, Trishia.
A funeral service is scheduled for noon Tuesday, July 28, at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will follow in West View Cemetery, Vernon Township.
