ERIE, Pa. -- Albert "Al" Beer, 87, of Erie, Pa., passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1938, in Warren, a son of the late Albert L. and Myrtle Wolf Beer.
Al graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1957 and went on to serve in the United States Army.
He worked as a tool grinder at General Electric for 24 years, retiring 2003. Prior to General Electric he worked for Hayes Manufacturing for 13 years.
Al was a member of First Alliance Church, the Siebenbuerger Club and the Elks Club. He enjoyed woodworking and cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Salvadore "Seth" Velez IV; his stepdaughter, Dawn Olszewski; and his sister, Della Pollard.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Joanne K. Piskorski; four daughters, Christina Beer, Melissa (John) Chivers, Jennifer (Matt) Glenn and Amanda Antolik; two stepdaughters, Maria O'Donnell and Katrina Stanko; two stepsons, Tom (Donna Marie) Migdal and Charles D. Mroczkowski Jr.; his brother, Allen Beer; his sister, Sally Kowalski; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, and are invited to a funeral service there at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
