Scott J. Salvaterra 1972-2026
GIBSONIA, Pa. — It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear son, Scott Joseph Salvaterra, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at AHN Wexford (Pennsylvania) Hospital, just days shy of his 54th birthday.
Scott was born June 21, 1972, in Warren, the son of Joseph and Linda Whitlatch Salvaterra.
The true loves of Scott’s life were family, friends and the spiritual world. Scott was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School, where as a youth, he played soccer and football and was a member of the speech team. He was involved in Scouting, where he was inducted into the Order of the Arrow. Scott was also a graduate of Kent State University, and while attending, he worked at Blossom Music Center, attending to the headliners. He managed bands in the Akron / Cleveland area such as Java Bean and Zealot Vox. In the summers, he worked at SeaWorld in the horticulture department.
Precious memories of Scott live on with his parents, Joseph and Linda Salvaterra of Niles; his special friend of 23 years, Heather Rommes; his brother, Mark Salvaterra (Sara); his nieces, Josephine Irene and Stella Marie Salvaterra; his aunt and uncle, Kathy and Bill Whitlatch; his cousins, William, Andy and Victoria; his close childhood friend, James “Bubba” Elbon; his friends, Jimmy and Babs Huckenstein and Brian and Wendy Mensch; his godson, Brady Mensch; his bonus children, Brianna Mensch and McKenzie McGlynn; and his beloved four-legged buddy, Rocco.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Wilson Charles Whitlatch and Ruth Irene Ollom Whitlatch; his paternal grandparents, Joseph Anthony Salvaterra and Anna Marie Powell Salvaterra; and his other beloved four-legged companion, Otis.
Calling hours will be noon to 1 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2026, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday. All who know and love Scott are welcome to attend and celebrate his terrific life.
