Sandra L. Swann 1959-2026

Sandra was born on July 11, 1959, in Morgantown, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lyle and Anna Lee Howell Brown.

She was a graduate of Morgantown High School and continued her education at Penn State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing.

On May 5, 1979, she married the love of her life, Norm Swann, and began their family together.

In 2024, she retired as the Director of Nursing at the Trumbull County Combined Health District and was instrumental in immunizing Trumbull County, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She enjoyed bicycling, hiking and running. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world with her family and close friends. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Zoe.

Sandra will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Norm Swann; son, Andrew (Jennifer) Swann; granddaughter, Zoe Swann; sisters, Mary Kay (Dennis) Watson, Beckie (Tom) Tamasco and Sue Ellen (Rick) Mergle; many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Joan (Butch) Ruiter and Carolyn (Gary) Swain.

Besides her parents, she was preceded by her mother- and father-in-law, Earl and Leota Swann.

Family and friends may visit from 2 to 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Lane Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, located at 164 N. High St., Cortland.

The Nursing Honor Guard will begin their service at 3:50 p.m. and a memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.
