GREENE — Roy Dale Hensley, 88, of Greene Township, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
Born Sept. 17, 1937, in Portsmouth, he was the son of Opal Boggs Hensley and David Hensley. Dale was also raised by his grandparents, Amelia “Ma” Boggs and Henry Boggs.
Dale proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He dedicated 42 years of hard work as a crane operator and a millwright to Copperweld Steel Company.
Dale was a 58-year member of the Warren/Cortland Masonic Lodge and earned the title of Master Mason. He loved anything outdoors, including hunting, fishing and gardening. Dale was especially proud of the watermelons that he grew. He also enjoyed going to local auctions and collecting his “treasures,” as he called them.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Darla Myers Hensley; two sons, Ryan Dale (Jeannie) Hensley and Kyle Cole (Marie) Hensley; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Velma Panak.
Funeral services will begin at noon Friday, June 5, 2026, at Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren, OH 44483. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Carl W. Hall Funeral Home has been entrusted with Dale’s arrangements.
