Ronald J. Kalas 1942-2026

NORTH BLOOMFIELD -- Ronald J. Kalas, 84, passed peacefully Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at his home surrounded by his daughters.

Born Feb. 3, 1942, in Lockwood, he is a son of Matthew and Elizabeth Gresock Kalas.

Ronald graduated from Maplewood High School in 1960, where he was a star basketball player and prom king. Professionally, he dedicated many years to Kraft Foods (formerly Sealtest Dairy) in Farmdale. Beyond his career, he remained deeply committed to the family farm, which he co-owned and operated for a lifetime alongside his brother, Matt.

Throughout his life, Ronald was a passionate supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals, finding joy in watching and rooting for his favorite team. He cherished time with his grandchildren -- attending their sporting events, sharing family dinners and enjoying outdoor activities together. Above all, he was deeply proud of his three daughters and treasured every moment spent with them and their families.

Ronald is survived by his daughters, Haley Abbey Kalas (Chris) of Pasadena, California, Lyndsay (Brian) Devlin of Newton Falls and Rebekah (Lou) Infante of Calcutta. He also found great pride and joy in his seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Cooper, Louie, Tucker, Olive, Josephine and Elliot, who were a source of endless happiness.

He is also survived by his sisters, AnnaMae Tabak of Austintown and Betsy Lesko of Kinsman, as well as his brothers, George Kalas of Orwell and Matthew Kalas of North Bloomfield.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Virginia Lenyo, Ella Kalas and Marydell Ragalyi; and brothers, Arthur, Joseph and Mickey Kalas.

Per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.

Professional services are being handled by Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel.
