BROOKFIELD --Robert P. "Bob" Rodgers, 83, passed away peacefully late Sunday evening, June 21, 2026, with his wife, son and brother at his side, at Hospice House, Poland.
Mr. Rodgers was born Dec. 16, 1942, in Sharon, Pa., a son of the late Robert I. and Rosemary Sheridan Rodgers. He attended Sacred Heart Parochial Grade School and later graduated from Sharon High School in 1961.
For 28 years, Bob worked as a metallurgical technician at Sharon Steel's former Farrel, Pa. plant. He then drove a school bus for Brookfield Area Schools, later becoming supervisor of the bus garage. Concurrently, Bob coached track and cross country at Brookfield High School, where coaching and mentoring young athletes became a true passion.
Bob was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, Pa., and was previously a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Church, Sharon, where he served as an Eucharistic minister and usher.
He proudly served in the 858th Quartermaster Unit in the U.S. Army Reserve, Farrell.
A classic car enthusiast, Bob was the proud owner of a 1951 Chevy Sedan Deluxe and won numerous trophies at local and regional car shows.
His greatest love, however, was the love he had for his family, especially for his beloved grandchildren, with whom he enjoyed getting together every Sunday for family dinner.
Bob was a friendly and outgoing person; everyone who knew him loved him.
His wife of 59 years, Rosemarie Bachick Rodgers, whom he married Sept. 3, 1966, survives at home in Brookfield.
Bob is also survived by his son, Bob Rodgers (Alexandra) of Independence; his twin siblings: a sister, Sherry Hogg (John) of West Middlesex, Pa., and a brother, Terry Rodgers of Boardman; and three grandchildren, Christina, Alena and Dillon Rodgers.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Darla Rodgers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be directed to Church of the Good Shepherd, 3613 Sharon Road, West Middlesex, PA 16159; or Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Youngstown, OH 44514.
