Robert H. Stern 1959-2026

Bob was born Oct. 4, 1959, to Robert and Dorothy Strawn Stern.

Bob dedicated 42 years of his career as a mechanic at Midway Chevrolet in Orwell. He enjoyed attending auctions and flea markets with his beloved wife, Debbie, as well as classic car shows. Bob also loved traveling throughout Ohio with Debbie, learning about the state’s rich history and visiting local wineries with friends. He will be remembered for his love of vintage oil, gas and advertising collectibles; his sarcastic sense of humor; and the many memories he shared with those closest to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Stern; his father-in-law, Harold Richman; and his mother-in-law, Martha Richman.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Debbie Stern; his six beloved cats; his brothers, Brent Stern and Karl Stern; his sister-in-law, Karen (Bob) Oviatt; his brother-in-law, Tim (Angie) Richman; his nieces, Heather, Amy, Robin, Starr and Traci; his nephew, Justin; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many lifelong friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Lane Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High St., Cortland, OH 44410.
