Robert G. McDermott 1937-2026

He was born April 5, 1937, in Warren, the son of the late Charles J. McDermott and the late Virginia Rogers McDermott.

Bob graduated from Leavittsburg High School in 1957 and was employed as a mechanic with Atlas Energy Corporation for 32 years. He also worked for Ohio Fast Freight for four years.

Bob served in the Army National Guard. He loved to fish, spending many hours on Lake Erie chasing walleye and perch and afterward attending fish fries with his family and friends. In his earlier years, Bob enjoyed snowmobiling and dirt bike riding.

Bob is survived by his brother, Charles (Erla) McDermott of Braceville; sister, Louise (Charles) Bromley of Randolph, New York; five nephews, Gary, Jim and Bill Tuttle, and Robert and Tim McDermott; along with two nieces, Nancy Tuttle and Jen Kachermeyer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, DarLena Tuttle.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery.

The family requests that material contributions be made to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County in his memory.
