WARREN -- Phoebe Barbara McCombs, 84, formerly of Greene Township, entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 13, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 16, 1941, in Barnesville, the daughter of Austin Herman Jefferies and Ruth Coup Jefferies Barnes.
A 1959 graduate of the last graduating class of Greene High School, Phoebe worked for United Telephone, first as an operator and later as a task clerk for the outside work crews. She enjoyed reading and cross-stitching.
Precious memories of Phoebe live on with her beloved husband of nearly 57 years, Paul V. McCombs, whom she married June 22, 1969; her daughter, Tracy A. McCombs of Niles; three sons, Lee A. Kemmer of Fowler, Kenneth J. Kemmer (Melissa Simko) of Liberty Township and Brian W. McCombs (Kellie) of West Palm Beach, Florida; two grandchildren, Cassandra McCombs of Niles and Arabella McCombs of West Palm Beach, Florida; and other family and friends who love her and think of her fondly.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters and one brother.
Services will be conducted privately at a later date.
Her urn will be laid to rest in Greene Township Cemetery.
