WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Nicholas R. Begalla, 64, passed away of natural causes Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his home.
Nick was born April 3, 1962, to John "Jack" and Arlene Foreman Begalla, who preceded him in death.
Graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 1981, Nick served in the United States Army for six years before eventually finding his way to North Carolina.
His memory will be cherished by his surviving family, including his wife, Karen Wolton Begalla; a brother, John "Mike" Begalla of Cape Coral, Florida; nephews, Taylor J. (Shannon) Begalla of Twinsburg and Blaine M. (Julianna) Begalla of Cortland; a niece, Jackilyn Jordan (Melvin) of Babcock Ranch, Florida; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
In keeping with Nick's wishes, no services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nick's name to Safe Haven for Cats, 8431 Garvey Drive #137, Raleigh, NC 27616, www.safehavenforcats.org, to honor his love for animals.
