BRISTOLVILLE -- Mary Freeman, 96, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at Windsor House in Champion.
She was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Warren, the daughter of John Giaurtis and Sophie Smolinski Giaurtis.
Mary had a love for books that led her to work at the Bristol library and the Warren Jewish Temple library. She enjoyed swimming and bowling and was in a bowling league for a number of years. She was a member of the Deacon Creek Church of Bristolville (Bristolville Church of the Brethren).
She is survived by her children, William Brooker, Eric Freeman and Sherri (Paul) Mayoros; grandchildren, Natalie (BJ), Camille (Ian), Daphne and Mason; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen DeCapito.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Freeman, whom she married Nov. 23, 1974; daughter, Nancy Lee Brooker; sisters, Joanne Dills and Stasha Kokolis; and brothers, Johnny Giaurtis, Gust Giaurtis and James Giaurtis.
Services will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Sager Memorial Cemetery, Bristolville.
