WARREN — Lydia Alva Sowell, 67, formerly of Youngstown, died following cardiac arrest on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 8, 1959, in Williamson, W.Va., a daughter of Clyde and Clotiel Nichols Sowell.

She was a mail handler for the United States Postal Service.

Survivors include her son, Mario Daleshawn Sowell of Warren; daughters, Ra Martrice Sowell and Nacole Battee, both of Warren; brother, Michael Sowell of Tampa, Florida; sister, Cora Sowell of Jacksonville, Florida; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, with services at 11 a.m., at Elim Christian Center.

Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Park Cemetery.
